What will I be doing this year?

As we have been informed, my AS level is worth 50% of my A2 level if i decide to take it to a higher level. My AS course is a combination of coursework and a final exam in May which has two sections to it. Each of these are worth 50% of my AS level.

The coursework portfolio has 100 possible marks and it has elements of group and individual work. Research and planning is fundamental, it is worth 20 marks altogether along with doing this blog which is crucial in my AS media course.

The main exercise is worth 60 marks which consists of achieving a title and opening of a new fiction film which has to be a maximum of 2 minutes long. The evaluation at the end is worth 20 marks.

The final exam is about the key media concepts of a TV drama that we will study. There is 100 marks available which will then become 50% of my AS level, the exam is set to last for 2 hours, 30 minutes will be taken up by watching the DVD clip. Similarly to GCSE section A will be a textual analysis and representation question and section B will consist of institutions and audiences.
